Hello! My name is Sarah Lidholm, and I teach Orchestra (2015-2016 school year) at Parker and Craig High Schools.
I grew up in Burlington, Wisconsin and started my music career in third grade playing piano. I joined Orchestra in 4th grade at my public school and have been playing viola ever since! I have been teaching a long time, starting with piano and dance lessons when I was in high school as well as through college. I graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 2009 with a degree in Music Education. I have performed in small ensembles as well as many years with the Chippewa Valley Symphony and the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra. I have also helped out with the Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony, as well as string camps in Minnesota and summer school string camps.
After graduating, I spent 3 years living with my husband, Mike, in Superior, Wisconsin, substitute teaching (be nice to your subs! That job is tough!) while my husband taught Tech Ed at Superior High School. We made the switch to move back south, and I am lucky and honored to be able to teach full-time in Janesville. This year (and last year), I was asked to be a staff member of the WSMA State High School Honors Project as the Viola Section coach, which was/is a wonderful opportunity for me to work with talented musicians from around the state.
My family consists of my husband and myself as well as our very mischievous cat, Loki. I enjoy baking, playing with the LGSO (Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra) and the TCCO (Turtle Creek Chamber Orchestra), watching movies, going to Brewer and Badger games, and reading about unusual and fascinating subjects. I am happy to be teaching here for my fourth year to work with some amazing students and am excited to make some beautiful music!
